The season so far:
The Kings are struggling league-wise this season and are currently 19th in the table, occupying the second relegation position with 24 points from 29 matches and a 21%-win ratio. From their 29 matches, they have 6 wins, 6 draws and 17 defeats. Their six wins were against Saffron Walden Town (Away 4-2), Frenford (Home 3-2), The Bridge (Away 5-1), Hackney Wick (Home 3-2), Romford (Home 2-0) and Benfleet (Home 4-1).

Season progress has seen The Kings' highest position, 15th after game 2, and they attained that place from games 17 to 19. Since then, they have gradually fallen away to reach 19th place by game 29.

Form Guide:
Currently, they are 18th in the form guide with only Frenford and Basildon United below them. The Bridge are 7th in the form guide table.

Last time out:
Their last match was in the ESL at Barking, and they were defeated 3-0. Barking scorers were Alfie Attrill (15’), Celeany Filho (66’) and Ryan Pickles with a 90th-minute penalty.

The Bridge v Athletic Newham – last meeting:
The last encounter between the two teams was in the ESL Premier on Saturday, 13th December 2025. 31 were in attendance as The Bridge romped to a 6-2 victory thanks to an Ellis Devereux hat-trick (one a pen.), two goals from Kelson McFarlane and one from Andrew Sasay. Emmanuel Osilaja scored both goals for the home side.

Watch Out For:
Chuks Uzor and Emmanuel Osilaja have scored the most goals this season with 8 and 5, but neither has played much recently. The Kings haven’t scored many in the last six games, netting only 4 times. The four scorers have been Abdi Ali, Eduardo Carvalho, Captain Jonathan Ogunsanya and Michael Chukwuma, so maybe they are ones to watch.

Summary:
This is a good opportunity for The Bridge to progress to the semi-finals, as The Kings are having quite a tough season, as illustrated by their 19th-place league position.

Their Errington Cup run started with a First Round Bye, before a 0-0 draw at the Mile End Stadium against Sporting Bengal United. They won that tie 3-2 on penalties to set up the Quarter Final tie with The Bridge. That penalty victory was the last time The Kings had won a match (14th January), and since then they have drawn two and lost five.

With The Bridge’s form being decent, they must be favourites to progress to the Semi-Finals, but football is generally unpredictable, so who knows? The two teams have met twice this season, with Newham winning 5-1 at Lower Road and The Bridge winning 6-2 at The Bobby Moore Sports Hub, so there should be plenty of goals! Probably 0-0 and penalties then!!
