The season so far:
It’s not been a bad second season in the ESL Prem for The Fleet, who are currently 9th in the ESL table, with 50 points from 31 matches and a 45%-win ratio. They are ten points off a play-off place, so, like The Bridge, are likely to finish middle to upper-middle in the final table. From their 31 matches, they have 14 wins, 8 draws and 9 defeats. Their record on the road is not bad at all, with 6 wins and 4 draws, so they should be a decent test for The Bridge on Non-League Day.

Season progress has seen The Fleet peak at 6th place, and the lowest position has been 12th. They have generally occupied 8th, 9th and 10th position, so a solid mid-table team.

Form Guide:
Form is OK, and they currently sit 7th in the form guide table (The Bridge are now 8th) with 3 wins in the last six, although they have drawn one and lost two of the last three.

Last time out:
Their last match in the ESL was a 3-1 home defeat on Tuesday night against Halstead Town. Kane Gilbert gave the visitors a 1-0 lead after 13 minutes, before Fleet captain Aaron Russell equalised (39’). Robbie Bennet scored for Halstead right on half-time (45+1’), and George Smith made the points safe for the visitors in the 68th minute.

The Bridge v Benfleet – last meeting:
The last encounter between the two teams was in the Peter Butcher Memorial Trophy quarter-final on Tuesday, 20th January 2026, at Woodside Park. The Bridge took the lead when Jack Mochalski scored after 32 minutes, just after Benfleet’s Billy Carter was sent off in the 28th. Taylor Lawrence scored a ‘worldie’ in the 89th minute to take the game to penalties, and The Bridge won an epic shoot-out 8-7, with Nathan Saunders the only player to miss.

Watch Out For:
Max Jobson leads the way in the goal-scoring ranks for The Fleet with 11 goals, although the last of those was on the 7th of February against Frenford, which was the last match he played in, so he probably won’t be in the Benfleet line-up.

Taylor Lawrence and Aaron Russell both have 9 goals and have featured in the last six matches, and both have scored three in the last six, with Taylor’s all coming from the penalty spot. Keep an eye on those two, especially if The Fleet get a penalty! Also watch out for ex-Bridge captain Jacob Wiggins, who has also featured in all six of those last six games.
