Well, this was a strange one. The match that wasn’t a match, or not a very long one anyway! Abandoned after 3 minutes, due to a controversial decision from referee Tommy Fleming, although I’ve got to say, it was probably a correct decision. The controversy was over whether the match should have even started at all, but hindsight is a wonderful thing.
If anyone has seen the short Ashley Hanson video, it did show that, although the players seemed happy to play, the pitch appeared to be very hard and the way the ball was running confirmed that. I stress that this is just my opinion, but ultimately, player safety is paramount. So, a much-anticipated game didn’t last very long, but at least there were no nasty injuries.
The rearranged game will now take place on Tuesday, the 3rd of February at 7:45, and hopefully the weather will be kinder then. So, not much of a match report, but there are some pictures, mainly of post-match discussions, for you to enjoy in the Matchday photo album and an appreciation below of the performers of the day!!

As the match only lasted 3 minutes, instead of a Man of the Match award this week, we have a joint performance of the match (pc or what!). The busy Bridge duo behind the bar of the HSFC clubhouse, defending their area from an onslaught from all directions following the abandonment of the game and providing service going forward and indeed sideways and backwards when required, Tracy and Kerry put in a hardworking team effort, clearing everything that came their way and stemming the tide under extreme pressure right through until the end. Well played girls, a deserved ‘performance of the match’ and apologies if I’ve spelt any names wrong!
