Essex Senior League Premier - Match Summary

By now, you're probably getting a bit fed up with me saying that this was another game I could not attend. However, once again, that’s true, and a match report is more of a match summary again. I hope that, like me, you think it’s worth noting, at least something, as many club websites don’t report anything at all on some or all matches, so at least we acknowledge that a game did take place, even if I can't give you much information about it!

Anyway, enough of my apologies and onto something about the game, the final one of season 24/25 and, hooray….The Bridge finished with a win!

It’s been a hard season in the ESL, as witnessed by 10 wins, 5 draws, and 23 defeats, but we hung onto our ESL place for next season and will look forward to, hopefully, building on the squad of 24/25 and challenging the other end of the ESL table.

So, a win in our final game and three points that keep us in 18th place! As I say, a tough old season with the second successive squad rebuild, but there have been some highlights along the way, with some good young players wearing the blue and white, and hopefully some of those will be around next season.

Not much of a match report and, unfortunately, that’s happened a few times this season, but it’s not always easy coming up with the details unless I'm there with my trusty notebook, and no club VEO since about halfway through the season hasn't helped my cause.

Well, that’s the last one done. I hope you’ve enjoyed my match reports, match summaries, and meanderings throughout the season. One way or another, I’ve managed to report on around 52 matches along the way, and now it’s time for a well-earned break!

Before we know it, we’ll be back for 25/26, but in the meantime, have a great summer, and keep watching the website for entertaining stuff during the close season and, as ever, always remember…

He’s been collecting awards like they're going out of fashion, and here’s another one. Thanks to my eyewitnesses, Mr Thwaites and Mr Frost, I can confirm that it’s another MOM for Connor to add to his tally. Congratulations, Connor, on yet another award!
