Safe to say that after the 5-0 defeat at home to Stanway, things are not looking so good and there’s a daunting trip to Rookery Hill to take on 2nd placed Romford to come next…but we’re not worried, are we? Time to be positive, time to stick together, time to show our true colours (Blue & White obviously)…and time for some of these…
Other than The Bridge match that we’re not going to mention (anymore) this also happened on Saturday…
Tilbury stayed top of the division with a 2-0 away win at Athletic Newham with goals from MacAuley Joynes and Harvey Browne. There were also 1-0 away wins for Little Oakley at Frenford and Romford at Saffron Walden Town. Additionally, Barking won 2-0 at Buckhurst Hill on Friday night, goals came from Luke Hirst and Anthony Martin and Woodford Town drew 1-1 with Takeley on the same night.
Back on Saturday, the remaining two fixtures were home wins – Halstead Town 3 Ilford 2, watched by a decent 255, and White Ensign 3 Coggeshall Town 1.
All of that leaves Tilbury top of the lot and Woodford dropping away a bit after a good draw for 17th-placed Takeley at Woodford on Friday, as mentioned.
This time last year The Bridge were losing at home to Felixstowe & Walton United 1-2 on Saturday the 19th of November. The visitors led through goals by Zak Brown (53) and Samuel Ford (80) before Sonny Dutton pulled one back in the 90th minute. In The Bridge line-up were current squad members, George Forrest and the just re-signed Adam Topley. 148 were in attendance.
As usual, here’s the ones I could find, sorry if I missed yours…
