Our Story
Hullbridge Sports Football Club has been part of village life since 1945, when a group of locals came together at the Anchor Inn to form a team for the community. What started as a small post‑war side playing in green‑and‑gold quarters has grown into one of Essex’s most respected grassroots clubs.

From the early days in the Mid‑Essex and Essex Olympian leagues, the club built its reputation on hard work, local pride, and a commitment to giving young players a chance. That spirit carried Hullbridge into the Essex Senior League in 1990, where the club spent nearly three decades competing against some of the county’s toughest non‑league sides.

The club’s proudest moment came in the 2018–19 season, when Hullbridge Sports were crowned Essex Senior League Champions for the first time in our history. That unforgettable campaign earned promotion to the Isthmian League North Division, taking the club to the highest level it had ever reached.

Today, Hullbridge Sports continues to represent the village with passion and ambition. Our home at Lower Road, now known as the T.J. Cottis Stadium, has grown alongside the club — with improved facilities, a thriving youth section, and a volunteer base that keeps everything moving forward.

Through highs and lows, one thing has never changed: Hullbridge Sports is a family club at the heart of its community.
